Mana Maolis’ Kānehūnāmoku Voyaging Academy is beginning a new project, E Mau Ka Holomoana.  The purpose of this project is to pilot a Hawaiian culture/waʻa based maritime vocational training program for high school juniors and seniors.  Based on our learning from grand master navigator Mau Piailug and the ʻohana of waʻa, we hope this program will inspire young Hawaiians to enter the maritime industry, to provide them with the skills necessary to enter confidently into 2 and … READ MORE!

In celebration of Kānehūnāmokuʻs 10th anniversary, we have new gear for sale! Our theme is ʻaʻole o kana mai ka liʻu o ka paʻakai. There are many layers of meaning to this manaʻo…for starters liʻu is the like the ono of the salt. Anakala Eddie Kaanana shared with us that the paʻakai is our kupuna knowledge. ʻAʻole o kana mai…is a poetic way of saying wow, super, choke!
